Aaron VIII

~the second to last installment of Aaron's epic; a found poem~

Hello all! Aaron’s epic continues. It’s nearly done actually! There will be 9 installments, and this is the 8th. The formatting is more than Substack can handle, so please forgive a screenshot:

These lines were all found within Numbers 13:17-16:47, and are ordered here as they appear in those chapters.

First, these verses revealed some things to me—obviously, they’re in God’s word, but I mean I started noticing something I’d never noticed in these particular chapters before. If you’ve heard me teach much, or you know me personally, you’ll know what I did next—I started marking up these pages of my Bible, making connections, noting repetitions, color-coding ideas, filling the margins with my questions, wondering and wondering with the Spirit. But then the verses seemed to easily organize into a conversation that I was very interested in, that offered another layer to me—especially where it ends, with the censer and Aaron running. Takes me back to the previous Aaron poem,

…to rise with the incense?

That’s all I’m going to say about this one. But here’s a bonus poem from Yahweh Loves a Desert that was in my mind as I worked on this one (by the way, Yahweh Loves a Desert is done and done! My final edits are submitted and the manuscript is out of my hands now. I wrote a preface I’m happy with. Ned Bustard designed a killer cover. The wonderful Benjamin Myers wrote a foreword that could not be better in my eyes, and now I am just waiting on a few endorsements I hope hope hope come through)~

(Forgive another screenshot for this poem. Again, it’s formatted in such a way that Substack will jack up, I’m sure, if I leave it to their tools)

Further up & further in,

Anna
